Here at the Guinea team, one of our most anticipated events of the summer, is of course Wimbledon. Hattie, our new Operations Manager, who you will meet at shows and events, is particularly ferocious on court! We are all in agreement though, that when we think of Wimbledon, we think of strawberries and cream, crisp white clothing, and what we consider our courtside essentials.
Here are our top tips for keeping cool on centre court.
-
Opt for breathable fabrics, such as cotton, silk, or sustainable viscose.
Here are our style teams picks from the Guinea collection.
-
Our silk Emily blouse comes in a long or short sleeve version, as well as multiple colours and designs, which means there is an Emily to suit everyone! With its flattering fit and feminine frills, this versatile piece, ideal for such an occasion.
Or if a dress is more your style, consider our Lucy dress in Peacock print. The colours couldn’t be more perfect for Wimbledon. It even has pockets!
Sunglasses are not only practical, but can really make a statement to an otherwise casual, understated outfit. You don’t want to miss a moment of play by not being prepared, so pop a pair in your handbag, just in case.
If a pesky rain cloud does hold play for a while, or the day is set to be a tad gloomy or overcast, consider a summer weight jumper in a timeless design. Our cashmere Helena jumper is in a classic Breton stripe - but with an added touch of lurex for that extra touch of luxury.
Stylish flats or wedges are to be recommended for long days and late centre court finishes, as is a light weight wrap or blazer, for if the weather cools in the evening.
-
Remember to apply your favourite foundation with SPF. The topic of skin care may not be glam but it keeps us looking that way! We recommend this moisturising foundation with SPF 45 by Estee Laude.
And last, but by no means least, an umbrella for rain or a hat for shine.
