Summer Show Story

The start of the show season is always exciting, especially with the iconic Badminton Horse Trials leading our calendar. For me, this event marks the beginning of spring and summer when the weather is warming up, and the scent of freshly cut grass is in the air.

Fun fact: Badminton is where Guinea first made its debut in the country clothing scene. It has served as the launch pad for what is a well-respected country fashion brand. Additionally, it’s where I joined the Guinea events team eight years ago. How time flies!

This year was particularly special as we completed a total revamp of our stand. The team worked tirelessly on the new design, which involved painting the units and sourcing new furniture, plants, and props. It was incredibly rewarding to see everything come together. We wanted our clothing to stand out, and while the old grey stand colour was practical, it didn’t showcase the garments in the way they truly deserved.

Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to have my closest friends, Millie and Gee, by my side. The ambience on the stand is unmatched, we love to see so many familiar faces as well as meeting so many new ones! There’s truly no place like these events; everyone is utterly charming and just ecstatic to be there. The buzz around Badminton is truly special.

This year, the weather treated us well making it perfect for the athletes and their horses. It was sunny but not too hot—ideal for trying things on! We want everyone to feel relaxed; so grab your friends, have a drink, and try on as much as you want while we are there to assist - we can even dog sit whilst you’re in the fitting room!! Our standout item this year was definitely the Hampton jacket in the cool new khaki colour way.

Our customer of the week had to be Marigold who at the age of 90 is still coming to Badminton every year! She purchased the Lulu dress and a Chelsea jacket for her grandchild’s wedding. We’re sure she will looked divine!

We were also very proud to see the CEO of Mars Equestrian, Bridgett McIntosh wearing our Siena dress coat, up on the podium with Ros Canter winner of Badminton 2025.

There was no better way to celebrate the glamorous new stand with our customers than over a chilled glass of rosé. This year, we partnered with the English Pink Wine Company for our bar selection. Like us, English Pink is a female-led British brand. Together, we celebrate three important values: delicious wine, British heritage, and female empowerment. It's truly a match made in heaven!

We were thrilled to return to the Royal Suffolk Show, an event that used to be a staple on Guinea's calendar before the pandemic. County shows are always such an enjoyable experience, and there’s an incredible sense of community as we celebrate all aspects of the agricultural industry, and as a brand, we are committed to being part of this celebration. Both Judie and I have personal ties to agriculture, and the brand is dedicated to showcasing country fashion at its finest!

As always, we met so many lovely customers at the Suffolk Show. I find it so special that you share with us the significant moments in your lives and it feels more like being a friend helping you find the perfect outfit. It’s moments like this that remind me why I love doing what I do; you can truly make someone feel like a million dollars. You only have one life, so live it to the fullest, ladies!

Overall, the Suffolk Show was a tremendous success, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

It was a quick turnaround from Suffolk, as we traveled back across the country to The Royal Cornwall Show—a place we had heard so much about but had never visited until now. It’s safe to say it did not disappoint! The turnout was impressive, with livestock coming from as far away as Scotland. The equestrian classes were filled with entries, and there was a fantastic variety of food trucks, local charities, and shops.

Again, we loved meeting lots of inspiring ladies! Our best seller at The Royal Cornwall was undoubtedly our tweed Newbury Jacket. Its traditional country style truly excelled over the course of the three days.

On the final day, we weren’t so blessed with the good weather. We faced gale-force winds and horizontal rain. Let me tell you, getting those signs down from the top of the marquee was quite an experience, to say the least. However, we feel lucky to have so many beautiful coats to showcase, even in such challenging conditions.

What a fabulous event season we are having so far! We look forward to meeting more of you at our upcoming events, including the Royal Norfolk Show (a firm favourite of ours), the Great Yorkshire Show (which holds a special place for our founder, Judie, as it was her childhood local show), and lastly, the Burghley Horse Trials, the most stylish of events.

Hope you enjoyed the show season recap so far!
