We cannot tell you how happy Guinea is to be back at the magnificent setting of Burghley House for the world's greatest 5* equestrian event, Defender Burghley Horse Trials.

This Three Day Eventing spectacle really showcases the ability of horse and rider, set against the backdrop of the stunning 16th century grand house and grounds, it is an event not to be missed!

With so much to see and do, here is Guinea's guide of making the most of your visit.

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR VISIT...

Burghley has some fantastic on site opportunities you may not be aware of so let Guinea enlighten you.

Established in 2019 Burghley Boutique offers the ultimate glamping experience in the grounds of Burghley itself, contained within the walled gardens. There are a range of luxury Bell Tents and Yurts to choose from, and with bar and food facilities all available within Burghley Boutique, you may never want to leave the area- especially as there is a big screen in the bar, so you can watch the events live, and in the evening “rider visitors talk through the day’s events with anyone who’s keen to hear an expert’s perspective.” You can also sleep safe and secure knowing the tents and yurts are lockable and there are staff around at all times.

While there is a fabulous range of food and drinks stalls available, catering to every taste, did you know you can dine in at the ‘Winners Enclosure’ Restaurant - whether for Breakfast, Lunch or Afternoon Tea - the menus are utterly scrumptious!

Or if you prefer to find your own sunny or shaded spot within the grounds, you could always order a premium picnic hamper from Michelin-star chef Tommy Banks. Filled with the most delectable treats this has everything you need from drinks and snacks, to lunch and afternoon tea.

THINKING OF EXTENDING YOUR VISIT...

Here at Guinea, we thought we would share some of our favourite places to visit, as well as our stylist picked key pieces, for that perfect day exploring the surrounding area - as it would be an utter shame not to go beyond the walls of the Burghley estate, while you are visiting for the Burghley Horse Trials.

A must have stop is the picturesque historic market town of Stamford and we cannot recommend popping into The Kings Head enough. Whether for relaxing pint or gin in the courtyard, or sitting down for some seriously yummy grub, this historic pub is an absolute must!

Also worth a visit is Paten & Co, with its industrial modern interior, reflecting its merchant history, it offers a seasonal menu, craft beers and specialist cocktails.

With food so good we’d recommend one of our silk summer dresses for ultimate comfort! Or be comfy and cosy in one of Guinea's, super soft,  knitwear range items.
